{October 2, 2009}   Library wiki and Libguides

I’m really impressed with wikis and how easy they are to use. I’ve created a couple of lib-guides for law and my Public International Law Libgiude has had over 1000 hits. It’s a guide for finding international cases from the International Court of Justice and treaties from the United Nations.

I’m also a member of WISE (WAGUL libraries) and we hope to create a wiki to host the STIL pages.

It must be said that some wikis are easier to use than others. Some of them can be rather esoteric; even wikimedia, which is behind Wikipedia, can have a unexpectedly steep learning curve. It’s often a matter of finding what wiki works for you – there are a lot out there.
